A beautiful quilt from our friend Chelsea!

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

A while back, we wrote in our blog about Chelsea, the teenage daughter of Tim, the owner of First Uniform, one of our koi retailers. Chelsea loves making quilts, which she often donates to those in need. koi founder Kathy Peterson sent her some koi fabric to use in her quilt-making and Chelsea was nice enough to send Kathy this beautiful quilt made with koi fabric. Thank you, Chelsea, and keep up the great work!

Kathy Peterson’s “Healthier, Happier You” July Update!

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

As many of you koi faithful know, koi founder and designer Kathy Peterson is an active participant in koi’s year-long “Healthier, Happier You” weight-loss campaign.

Here’s Kathy’s monthly “Healthier, Happier You” update for July 2010:

Wow, we’re at the halfway mark already. I’ve been working out pretty regularly at the gym. I am showing much more muscle tone and my energy levels have increased, but I am disappointed to say that I’ve hardly lost any weight. I think a lot of it has to do with my diet.  I am a vegetarian and it is a little tricker getting the right balance between protein and carbohydrates. I decided I am going to change things up a bit since my current routine hasn’t shown any significant results. Based on my friend Janet’s recommendation, I am going to try P90X. It contains a nutritional guide as well as DVDs I can take on the road with me when I am traveling. I know sometimes your life may get a little crazy, but it is important you don’t give up. Keep working toward your fitness goals. It is never too late to make positive changes in your life.

—Kathy Peterson

To the contestants who are participating in the “Healthier, Happier You” Contest, if you haven’t submitted your June weight and measurements, please turn in your updates by July 10th to shiningstar@koihappiness.com. Thanks!
