Examples of Unauthorized Knock-offs
Many of koi’s designs are protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws and cannot be legally copied by other companies or individuals.
Here are some examples:
Above: koi Monica Grateful top on the left and an unauthorized “knock-off” version that was found at Mark’s Work Wearhouse on the right.
Above: The fabric print used in the koi Monica Grateful top features the word “koi” as part of the pattern.
Above: The fabric used in the “knock-off” version found at Mark’s Work Wearhouse has the letters “koc” instead of “koi” in the same typeface and identical place in the design pattern.
Above: On left, the koi Kathryn Rosa top featured a rose design pattern created in-house at koi. On right, a “knock-off” version found at Mark’s Work Wearhouse under the Scrublovers brand name. This unauthorized version uses the same rose design pattern artwork featured on the original koi version.
