How to Spot Fake koi Products or Knock-offs
What can you do to ensure that the scrubs you purchase are genuine koi scrubs?
Here are a few tips:
1. Look for the koi label. We only manufacture our products under the koi label. We do not sell our products under private labels nor do we license our designs or name to other companies. If the garment looks like koi, but it carries a different label, it is not a koi product.
2. Only purchase from authorized koi retailers. The best way to be sure that the koi garments you purchase are genuine is to buy from an authorized koi retailer. If you are unsure of whether a retailer is an authorized koi retailer, email us at info@koihappiness.com with the company’s name and location. You can also find nearby authorized koi retailers by using the Store Locator on this site.
3. Buy koi products on eBay at your own risk. Authorized koi retailers do not sell on eBay or other online auction sites. We have seen unauthorized koi factory rejects, complete with koi packaging and hang tags, for sale on eBay, being sold as if they were new, first-quality goods. For example, a shipment of Zoe tops was rejected by koi for excessive shrinkage. Instead of being destroyed by the factory, some of these inferior goods have found their way to online auctions. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you purchase from authorized koi retailers.
4. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It is rare that an authorized koi retailer will offer our products at a deep, deep discount. If you find “new” koi merchandise for sale at an unbelievably low price through a retail store, scrubs dealer, website, flea market or online auction, proceed with caution. Investigate whether the seller is an authorized koi retailer. Be safe, not sorry.
